Permit and Code Violation Corrections
Unfortunately, just when we think we have seen it all, someone does something without a permit and gets a “RED TAG” or Stop Work Order. At first, it can seem like the end of the world, but rest assured, it most likely is not. What you do next will determine how good or bad it goes however.
Most people reach out to the building department and offer an explanation or reason why they didnt get a permit. While we all appreciate honesty, sometimes what seems like a lot of work to a homeowner, is in fact basic constuciton and misrepresenting too small or too big a project to the city could result in triple fines.
